Basel, 18 February, 2025  – Today marks a significant milestone in the evolution of global trade with the official launch of the Verifiable.Trade Foundation (VTF). Established with a vision to enable an open, digital landscape for the global trade community, VTF is introducing the International Secure Trade Transfer Protocol (ISTTP) – an innovative, open-source and universal protocol set to bridge all trading parties and digital platforms.

Global trade is the backbone of economic prosperity but despite its importance, the industry is plagued by outdated, paper-based processes, inefficiencies, and a fragmented digital ecosystem. While multiple solutions exist, most are proprietary, creating digital silos that fail to address industry-wide challenges.

VTF aims to bridge these gaps as ISTTP fosters seamless collaboration among businesses, financial institutions, governments, and service providers. The protocol incorporates a layer of trust focusing on the security and verification of organizational identity and data authenticity.
